Discover the homelands of Alfred G. Villeneuve through his self discovered language in paint .. 'Algonkin Mosaic', a divination of his Anishnaabe - Kashub roots in the Valley. Alfred's work 'July Sunset - Tea Lake'- Algonquin Park was short listed in the RBC-Canadian Art, National Painting Competition 2007. www.canadianart.ca The Department of Foreign Affairs hosted a group exhibition Alfred participated in called 'Kitchiokima' to celebrate National Aboriginal Day, curated by Don Monet of the Cube Gallery in 2008. www.international.gc.ca His most recent artistic endeavour 'thirty days in july' a homage to an Algonquin Park Summer ended a successful two year cross province tour,.. including the historic Homer Watson House & Gallery in Kitchener-Waterloo. He was the first artist selected to show in the salon of the preeminent Doon artist after it's historic and documented restoration (History Channel 2009 t.b.a.) www.homerwatson.on.ca 'Smaller Masterpieces' group show (2008) Maslak McLeod gallery-Alfred's first Toronto group show with Christian Morriseau (son of Norval Morriseau) and Margaret Ludwig -painter of the Canadian Artic. He will be having his first solo show at Maslak-McLeod in 2009, He will also be exhibiting at the Art Gallery of Ontario this summer. This summer he will be traveling in N-W Ontario in a plein air documentation/journaling of the Pow Wow Trail as a member of the Ft. Frances All Nation Drum, with thanks for being awarded O.A.C. funding.
